Blog 7: My favorite character

My favorite character is called Frank Underwood, he is the main character a Netflix serie called House of Cards. The show has actually five seasons and the number six is being recored now. But it is going to be the last one because the actor who plays Frank is acused of sexual abuse, so in consecuense the Netflix decided to shut down the show.

Of course the actor has nothing to do with the character he plays. In the show he plays a politian that from the start he schemes his way to the Obal Office. He starts as a congresman, then he tries to become secretary of state, but then he finishes being vicepresident. In that position he makes some moves, he gains the president's trust and he starts talking to the correct people. I am not going to give away more details so you watch the serie, then you can coment me if you love or hate Frank.

Also I really like the way he interpellates the audience by talking to the camara. He abstracts himself from the scene, the time stops and suddenly he is talking to you, comenting on what is happening or what is about to happen. It is an inteligent resourse.

But  aside (I don´t want to say behind) every man, there is a great woman. And that woman is Claire Underwood, his wife. They are a really particular couple, they both love power and they have very delimited objectives. So in the parts I hate Frank, I focuse all my love to Claire.

I really recomend this show, despite all the acusations to the actor Kevin Spacey. You will learn about politics and manipulation tecnices to achieve your goals, but don't use them for bad porpuses please.
