The english program here at university is not as good as I wish it would be. It should be more intensive and extrict, because english nowadays is a really importante language, specially for us, journalism students. If we want to grow in our career it is important to know english.
My experience in the program was nice, because I had a good teacher that made the class really dinamic and enterteining, so I can't complain about that. I think the deficiency comes from part of the administrative area. Also the use of blogs, personally, made me practice my written english, a thing that I usually don't practice a lot. The things I practice more are speaking (when I travel) and listening (when I watch series and movies). That is why I think blogs are a good method of learning and practicing english.
The things I need to improve are my grammar and the speaking. This is mainly because I don't practice as much as I should and because I get really nervous when I need to talk. So now I will practice more with my brother, because he is really good at english and he is studying for an exam he is going to do in a few weeks. That is a good instance to continue practicing and it will beneficiate both of us.
Outside class I am not used to practicing english, only when I watch my series. Sometimes I put english subtititles instead of spanish, and when I am feeling more brave I don't use subtitles. But that is all the english I practice outside university. I had a time in my life when I read in english, but now I don't read so much.
Now it is up to us to continue improving our english outside university!
